Predictions for this evening: Pat's to win 2-0. Bohs to draw 1-1.
Good luck to both clubs. I hope I'm wrong on my Bohs prediction. It's important they lead 1-0 at half-time. If they do they'll have a chance. They restricted the other crowd to long shots for most of the game. Supposedly the penalty was dubious as was the free for the second goal. They'll have to be careful at set-plays. I definitely would not write them off. Fagan is good for getting a goal, tonight is the night to do it and make a name...

I see Copenhagen have a lad called Thomas Delaney. According to wiki he's Irish American. Anybody know anything about him?
Copenhagen are obviously favourites and did well to reach the knockout stages last year but I don't think its as big a mis-match as others seem to. They are typically hard-working well-drilled side that exploited a soft group last year. Rovers can match them like that and who knows?

Rovers took on Juve last year and did ok. They've nothing to fear. It's a good game to bring to these shores.

Pat's have done well for Ireland, winning 2-0 on the night, 3-2 agg. Bohs drew 1-1 on the night, losing 1-3 agg. Bohs played well and led at half-time. A dreadful own goal with 10 minutes to go ended their European adventure for this year. It's a familiar story for Bohs in Europe. It's hard to see them representing Ireland anytime soon again but who knows?

Bohs won't be back in Europe anytime soon. Disappointing result last night and in the tie overall.
However, all credit must go to Pete Mahon and St. Pat's. In a dismal week for Irish clubs in Europe they've lifted all our spirits.
Also, St. Pat's are now unbeaten in 10 European games in Inchicore. That's some record and fair play to them. It's a pity that they'll have to play their next home game in the South Dublin County Council Municipal Stadium.

We can only dream, a disappointing result last night after we started well, cracking atmosphere for it and hard to fault any of the players, to a man they gave it their all. Defensive mistakes coming back to haunt us in Europe but that won't take away from the sense of pride felt last night.
A decent run in the cup isn't that far out of reach, get past Longford and with a home draw in the quarters we could do well. Shamrock Rovers seem to be self imploding domestically and a bit of fixture changing could cause some congestion at the end of the season for them, hopefully we're in a position to take advantage if it does.
Still think a top five position is a strong possibility, with a bit of luck we could finish fourth. Although at the same time we could be lucky to have a club this time next year so we may as well enjoy it while we can.

Hope you put some money on those predictions, Legendzxix!
Good stuff from Pats. They have a real knack for the European thing. Hopefully the 3 teams now left in it can at least keep the ties alive til the return legs. Tall order asking any of them to get through (especially Shamrock Rovers v Copenhagen) but you never know.

Mes Amis What do you mean a dismal week for Irish Clubs, two of the three Irish Clubs[ Airtricity league] got through to the next round and your cheap shop at Pats having to play some where else is bitter to say the least.

A cheap shot at Pats? Not at all, but having to play their next home game away from Inchicore is a disadvantage when you consider their fantastic record in Richmond in Europe.
With Bohs and Rovers through, the Saints rescued what could of been a terrible week for LoI supporters.

It's going to be a tough game for Rovers. I'm surprised RTE have agreed to showing the second leg before the first game has been played. Rovers did ok against Juventus last year. Prediction: Copenhagen 2-0 win. If Rovers could somehow snatch an away goal, it'd be fantastic to keep the tie alive for the return leg.

Good luck to Shamrock Rovers tonight. Let's hope they can keep the tie alive for the second leg in Tallaght. While I think Rovers will be on the back foot for most of the match, it would be fantastic if they could snatch an away goal (or two) on the break. However, in order to do so, Rovers will have to improve on their finishing which wa abysmal against Flora in the second leg match in Estonia. Many times, Rovers did so well to create clear-cut scoring chances which they spurned through truly dreadful finishing - shots that were hit way wide or miles over the bar. Don't they practice their shooting? On the evdence of their less-than-clinical penalty-taking against Sligo in the cup Final, probably not. FC Copenhagen will give them less space and time on the ball to shoot so I'm afraid I'm not optimistic.

Good result all things considered. One heroic effort will put them through now...hold on a second, where are Rovers if they win this tie? What round will they be in?

I couldn't watch the game due to being in work (wrong time zone) but that's a superb effort from Rovers. I was following the live text and it seems like they had a few good chances of their own to score. Still a very tall order for them to win the tie (you'd have to imagine Copenhagen will score at least one more in the 2nd leg) but at least things are very much in the balance heading back to Tallaght.

Decent performance by Rovers tonight. Pity they did not get the away goal. Shame on RTE for not giving the game a mention on the Six One News and again at 9. As national broadcaster they should be doing better.
