Here are the players who stood out for us in yesterday's action-packed Ladies football finals at Croke Park...

1. Mary Hulgraine (Kildare)

Kildare went one step further than last year in the intermediate final and their goalkeeper was a vital ingredient in their winning formula.

2. Olwen Carey (Dublin)

No finger of blame for Dublin's defeat can be pointed in the direction of the corner-back who curbed Orla Finn's influence.

3. Brid Stack (Cork)

Enjoyed a ding-dong tussle with Sinead Aherne and limited Dublin's star forward to two points from play.

4. Marie Ambrose (Cork)

Emerged on top in her personal duel with Niamh McEvoy as the game wore on.

5. Sinead Goldrick (Dublin)

Pushed her side forward at every given opportunity but a lack of profligacy in front of the posts came back to haunt the Jackies.

6. Deirdre O'Reilly (Cork)

Initiated the move which culminated in Cork's goal and was described as the team's 'anchor' by selector/coach James Masters afterwards.

7. Shauna Kelly (Cork)

Was alert to the danger when a goal chance presented itself to Dublin's Carla Rowe in the first-half.

8. Jacinta Brady (Longford)

The midfielder's finger prints were all over Longford's stunning second-half comeback in the junior decider against Antrim.

9. Rena Buckley (Cork)

As per usual, led by example throughout and was a deserving recipient of the 'player-of-the-match' accolade.

10. Briege Corkery (Cork)

An inspirational half-time team-talk from the dual star sowed the seeds for the Rebelettes sixth success in-a-row.

11. Ciara O'Sullivan (Cork)

Caused plenty of problems for Leah Caffrey and set up Rhona Ni Bhuachalla for the all-important goal.

12. Aisling Holton (Kildare)

The Lilywhites captain fired over two points in their minimum margin victory over Clare.

13. Niamh O'Dea (Clare)

Despite the best efforts of O'Dea, who finished with five points to her name, the Banner County finished as runners-up.

14. Doireann O'Sullivan (Cork)

Showed her class when kicking three top drawer points in the closing stages of a tense encounter.

15. Sinead Aherne (Dublin)

Defeat was a bitter pill for Aherne, who scored 1-3, and her team-mates to swallow.
