Kildare and Down have been boosted by the news that Kevin Feely and Kevin McKernan have been cleared to play in their next games.

Feely automatically received a one-match ban after picking up his third black card of the season in Kildare's Leinster final defeat to Dublin last Sunday, but successfully appealed the black card he received against Clare in the Allianz League last March to the Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) yesterday.

It means the Athy clubman will be available for Saturday week's All-Ireland SFC Round 4B qualifier against Armagh on July 29.

Kevin McKernan's appeal to the CCCC against his black card arising from last Sunday's Ulster SFC final defeat to Tyrone was also successful and he is now free to play in Down's All-Ireland SFC Round 4B qualifier against Monaghan, which also takes place on Saturday week.
