There was action in all five divisions of the national hurling league this afternoon, including the top-flight meeting of holders Waterford and All-Ireland champions Kilkenny.
Today's other huge Division 1A clash saw Galway entertain Cork, while there were also two interesting fixtures in Division 1B: Clare V Offaly and Laois V Kerry.
The 18 counties contesting Divisions 2A, 2B and 3A were also determined to hit the ground running, with Antrim's trip to Derry and Carlow's clash with Kildare at Newbridge among the stand-out contests.
