Colaisti Inis Eoghain - Players To Meet This Week
23 July 2012
A new season of Colleges football is fast approaching and Colaisti Inis Eoghain will once again be competing in Ulster Colleges competitions, namely the Rannafast Cup and Corn na nOg Cup. This will be the third year of the amalgamated schools teams competing at this level and already the benefits are there to be seen by all.
A number of players have recently progresses to County teams at U15, U16, U17 and U18 and there are high hopes that some of those players will shortly follow in the footsteps of Buncrana's Ryan Bradley and Malin's Declan Walsh, who have made a such significant contribution to Donegal's historic two in a row at Ulster level.
Players from all second level schools in Inishowen who are interested in joining any of the two panels are asked to attend a short meeting on Thursday evening in Muff at 7.00 pm, so that registration details can be collected and information will then be given of a training programme which will commence almost immediately.
Anyone born on or after 1st July 1998 is eligible to play for the Corn na nOg squad team while Rannafast players should be born on or after 1st July 1996.
Games in both competitions will commence in mid September and Colaisti Inis Eoghain have been drawn against the following schools for the coming season.
Rannafast Cup - Omagh CBS, Our Lady's Castleblaney, St Colmans Newry
Corn na nOg - St Patricks Cavan, St Michaels Enniskillen, St Macartans Monaghan, St Patricks Armagh.
