Martin Meagher was the proud recipient of a President's Award in Croke Park last month.
The annual award winners are honoured for their prolonged contributions to the Association and Meagher was recognised for his outstanding services to third-level GAA.
A Loughmore-Castleiney clubman, he won four SHCs and one SFC in Tipp as a dual player and captained the Premier County footballers in 1984.
At Carlow IT, he was a driving force behind the development of gaelic games, leading the university's hurlers to two Ryan Cups and two Division Two crowns whilst also pioneering the BA in Sport & Exercise.
The award recipient also represented third-level institutes on Central Council from 2006 until 2010.
