Cork had a narrow one point win over Clare in their round robin fixture and Jennifer O'Leary was a thorn in Clare's side on that afternoon, as was midfield powerhouse Gemma O'Connor. Cork's experience should shade it on the day.

Dublin's victory over Kilkenny after extra time, in last week's crunch qualifier, may prove to be a watershed moment for the Blues, if they can overcome the considerable challenge of Offaly, and progress, to the semi-finals. Arelene Cushen gave a player of the match performance last week while Mari Moynihan hit 0-10 from 0-17. The performances of Elaine Dermody and Siobhan Flannery will be crucial for Offaly; who shaded victory when the two sides last met. Dublin, on a high from last week's epic win, may have enough.
