WESTMEATH CAMOGIE NOTES

County Team
The County Team continued their winning streak making it three out of three when they defeated Cavan on a scoreline of 4-12 to 0-04 in this game played in Cusack Park on Saturday afternoon last. See match report elsewhere in this paper.

County U16 Team
Well done to the U16 team who had a 3-13 to 2-3 win over Laois in Round 1 of the All Ireland 'C' championship.

Rules workshop
A workshop for players/mentors/coaches/referees on the new playing rules has been organised for Tuesday 17th July commencing at 8pm in The Greville Arms. Attendees are asked to be there by 7:45pm. Clubs are asked to ensure that as many as possible attend as this is an excellent opportunity to have the new rules explained.

Intermediate League
Round 4 of the Intermediate League resulted in wins for Drumraney over St. Bridgets; Clonkill over St. Munnas; and Lough Lene Gaels over Raharney. The match between Castletown Geoghegan and Brownstown was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

U16 semi-finals
The Under 16 semi-finals took place last week and resulted in wins for Raharney over Castletown Geoghegan and St. Bridgets over Lough Lene Gaels. Raharney and St. Bridgets will now contest the final on Wednesday 8th August due to the 5k run taking place on 1st August.

Senior Championship
Round 4 of the Senior Championship will take place on Wednesday 18th July. Fixtures: Castletown Geoghegan v Cullion; Lough Lene Gaels v Delvin; St. Munnas v Raharney.

Junior Championship
Round 3 of the Junior will take place on Tuesday 17th July. Fixtures - Drumraney v Brownstown; Crookedwood v St. Oliver Plunketts.

U12 League
Round 5 of the Mini League is fixed for Wednesday 18th July. Fixtures: Clonkill v St. Munnas; Brownstown v Castletown Geoghegan; Lough Lene Gaels v Crookedwood; Raharney v Longford; St. Bridgets v Castlepollard; Delvin v Drumraney.

U8/U10
Well done to all the clubs who took part in the U8/U10 blitzs last weekend and many thanks to the host clubs - Clonkill, Drumraney, St. Munnas and Crookedwood.

5K Fundraiser
A reminder to all members to keep the 1st August free for the 5k Run/Fun Run/Walk which takes place in Belvedere House & Gardens at 8pm. Clubs will also be contacted in the coming days to provide members to help out on the night.
