Tipperary had a very positive aproach to this match and had Clare on the backfoot with a goal by captain Joanne Ryan after only one minute of play with a speculative long range shot which decieved the Clare goalie,Clare replied with what was to be their only point of the first half with a free.Tipperary were puting the Clare defence under great pressure and with Nicole Walsh in great form converting her frees Tipperary were dominating play ,Clare were making great efforts to get into the game bur tipps defence were in control with player of the match Mary Ryan alert to any danger and midfielders Jill Horan and Caoimhe Maher controling the centre of the park. Clare were guilty of shooting some wides before points by Jill Horan and Cait Devane sent Tipp in at halftime leading 1.08 to Clares 1 point.In the second half against a strong wind Tipp took the game to Clare with fine point by Siobhan McGrath in the opening minute,Clare replied with a free by their best player Claire McMahon ,further points by Nicole Walsh and Cait Devane increased Tipps lead,before Clare replied with a couple of points ,a point that just skimmed the crossbar by Siobhan McGrath was followed by a fine goal by Cait Devane to emphasise Tipps dominance.Clare were trying to put points on the board and scored three quick points before Jill horan scored two well taken points with the final point being scored by Cait Devane ending the game with Tipperary convincing winners.
