All Ireland Junior A Championship
Best of luck to the County team as it kicks off its championship campaign this Saturday, 30th June when they take on Offaly in Cusack Park at 5pm. The game is the opening match in a double-header with the Senior Footballers who take on Louth in the qualifiers. It would be great to see a big turnout of support for the girls on Saturday.
Under 14 finals
The Under 14 championship reaches its conclusion this week following semi-finals last week. In the Premier competition Raharney overcame St. Munnas and Castletown Geoghegan overcame Clonkill to set up a repeat of last year's final. The premier final takes place in Cusack Park this Wednesday 27th June at 7pm. These two teams contested last year's final and also the 2011 & 2012 Feile Finals and if these finals are anything to go by we should have another classic on the cards on Wednesday night.
Also on Wednesday night, St. Munnas and Clonkill will contest the Premier 'B' final at 6:30, whilst in the 'A' final Cullion take on Castlepollard at 5:30. At time of writing a venue had yet to be fixed for these finals.
Under 8/10 Blitz
There was a round of U8/U10 blitzs on Saturday last. Congratulations to all the teams who took part and a special word of thanks to the Clubs who hosted the blitzs.
Under 12 Mini League
The third round of games took place last Wednesday, 20th June. In Division 1 -Clonkill beat Croodedwood; St. Munnas beat Lough Lene Gaels; Brownstown conceded against St. Oliver Plunketts. In Division 2 - Raharney beat Delvin; There were no results in from Drumraney v Longford and Cullion v St. Bridgets.
Under 16 Championship
The final round of matches in the Under 16 Championship take place this Friday. In the Premier competition its Clonkill v Lough Lene Gaels; Castletown Geoghegan v Crookedwood; St. Munnas v St. Bridgets and Raharney have a bye.
In the 'A' competition the fixtures are: Delvin v Cullion; St. Oliver Plunketts v Brownstown and Drumraney have a bye. Playoffs are scheduled for 2nd July with semi-finals fixed for 9th July so clubs are advised to complete any unfulfilled fixtures this week.
Intermediate League
The Intermediate League kicked off again last weekend following a break for exams. Results: Division 1 - St. Munnas beat Crookedwood; No result from Clonkill v St. Bridgets. Division 2 - Cullion conceded points to Raharney; Lough Lene Gaels v Castletown Geoghegan was postponed.
Senior Championship
The Senior Championship re-starts next week following a break for exams. Games are fixed for Tuesday 3rd July as follows: Raharney v Clonkill; Castletown Geoghegan v Delvin; Lough Lene Gaels v St. Munnas. Cullion have a bye.
Return of Silverware
Clubs are reminded to return any silverware that they won last year to the County Board as soon as possible.
Fundraising 5K run
Westmeath Camogie are running 5k Race and Fun Run/Walk on Wednesday 1st August in Belvedere House & Gardens at 8pm. There will be prizes for first three overall males and females, best male and female over 40 and best male and female 16-18. All clubs are asked to support.
