GAA make moves to clam Croke Park residents

February 23, 2005
An independent report has been commissioned by the GAA in the hope that it will put Croke Park residents' minds at ease over a number of issues. Match day traffic has always been a cause for concern for the people living in the area and this may be increased if Rule 42 is abolished, meaning their will a lot more big matches played at GAA headquarters including soccer and rugby internationals. A spokesperson for the GAA said: We compiled a report last year on actual match day data, where people park, getting in and out of the stadium, rubbish collection etc. They have listed a number of recommendations and they will present that to us and the residents. That will set the agenda for 2005." Residents have stressed that they will do whatever they can to oppose Rule 42 being abolished as their concerned that they already have too much to deal with.
