Longford Slashers will take on Killoe Emmet Og in the Longford SFC final on the first Sunday in October after snatching a dramatic 0-11 to 0-10 victory over Abbeylara at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park this evening.

Sean Clarke and Andrew Kelly (free) scored injury-time points to give the town side the win after Cian Brady's point in the final minute of normal time looked to have secured Abbeylara's place in the final for the fifth year in-a-row.

A young Slashers side had led by 0-5 to 0-3 at the break, but Abbeylara fought back to take the lead before Clarke levelled and Kelly slotted over the winning free with the last kick of the game. Killoe booked their place in the Connolly Cup decider last Sunday thanks to a 2-10 to 0-11 victory over Mullinalaghta's conquerors Colmcille.
