Thousands of Tipperary fans are preparing to welcome home the newly-crowned All-Ireland hurling champions.

Semple Stadium will host homecoming this evening for Liam Sheedy and his players after yesterday's emphatic 3-25 to 0-20 victory over Kilkenny at Croke Park. The party will get underway at 4pm in The Dome beside Semple Stadium, with the Liam MacCarthy Cup due to arrive back in Thurles later in the evening.

Official Tipperary GAA approved number plates will be on sale for €5, with all proceeds going to the team holiday later in the year.
