Report: Quaid to depart Westmeath role

The Irish Independent is reporting that Westmeath GAA has relieved Joe Quaid of his duties as manager of the county’s senior hurlers.
Despite leading the Lake County to Kehoe Cup and Division 2A success as well as the Joe McDonagh Cup decider, Westmeath are expected to confirm the end of his tenure tonight after less than 12 months at the helm.
It’s a surprise move by the county’s top table considering the progress that was made under the tutelage of the ex-Limerick goalkeeper.
