Peter Keane is confident that Gavin White will be fit for Kerry's Munster SFC semi-final against Clare in eight days' time.

The 22-year-old defender, who has been nominated by his club Dr Crokes to captain the Kingdom in the championship, has been sidelined since suffering an elbow injury while playing for the Killarney club against Kerins O'Rahilly's on April 20.

“Gavin is nearly right. He’s getting there. More hopeful than not that he’ll be okay for the Clare game,” the Kerry manager is quoted as saying in the Irish Examiner.

With Peter Crowley ruled out for the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury, Keane has added Spa's Liam Kearney and Danny Sheahan of Legion to his panel.
