James Horan acknowledged that Mayo rode their luck in their victory over Monaghan which catapulted them into next Sunday's Allianz Football League final against Kerry.
A brace of Kevin McLoughlin goals proved decisive as the Westerners qualified for their first league decider since 2012.
“We were probably lucky. The bounce of the ball went our way and not Monaghan’s," the Mayo manager told the Irish Sun.
“They might have felt harshly done by with some of the decisions — I would say they were. We were lucky to get out in the end.
“I thought we were very sloppy in the second half and we will try to fix that for next weekend.”
He added: "Obviously we look forward to next weekend, it's great for some of us to get up there and have a crack (at Kerry)."Tweet
