Mickey Harte breathed a sigh of relief after Tyrone escaped from Dr Hyde Park with their first point of this year's Allianz Football League.

Roscommon had a glorious chance to win at the death when they were awarded a 20-metre free in front of the posts, but referee Noel Mooney overturned the decision after Ultan Harney needlessly pushed Tyrone goalkeeper Niall Morgan.

“I’m glad the referee decided to reverse the free,’’ Harte told the Irish News before going on to criticise the decision to issue Mattie Donnelly a black card moments earlier.

‘‘It would be a lot worse to have no points after three matches. But it was a harsh black card for Mattie Donnelly, so some decisions go for you and others go against you.”

“The time the black card made a huge difference. If Mattie was on the field we’d have had as good a chance to win as Roscommon.’’

Harte was full or praise for Niall Morgan who earned the Red Hands a draw with a monstrous point three minutes from the end - his second from play in as many weeks. 

‘‘You saw all the qualities of Niall Morgan, not just as a goalkeeper, but as a footballer in this match. He plays out the field for his club and he is very comfortable anywhere on the field,” he added.
