Corofin manager Kevin O’Brien is not fazed by the fact his players will be in action for the fifth time in six weeks this Sunday.

Following their Galway SFC replay win over Mountbellew/Moylough last Sunday, Corofin are back in action this Sunday when they take on Roscommon champions Clann na nGael in the Connacht club SFC semi-final.

The Galway champions are on the road as they travel to Dr Hyde Park to take on a Clann side that struggled to overcome London’s Tir Chonaill Gaels last weekend.

Corofin enter the match as favourites and O’Brien insisted to the Connacht Tribune that tiredness will not be a factor despite their hectic schedule.

“It is a short turnaround and, I suppose, it will be our fourth Sunday in a row as well which will be a challenge for us. It is something though at this time of the year you have to adjust to,” said O’Brien.

“I think we are an experienced group and we try to prepare as best as we possibly can and take all that into consideration. I don’t think tiredness should be an issue come Sunday.

“Once you go outside your own county and it is the same for Clann na nGael, it is a new challenge. Teams and players don’t know each other so there is a bit more freedom in that because you are not used to playing against one another. It is a long time since we would have played Clann na nGael so there is no history there and that should lend to a good open game of football.”
