Ardfinnan and Moyle Rovers will contest the Tipperary SFC final on 28 October after both sides caused upsets in yesterday's semi-finals.

Managed by Wicklow boss John Evans, Ardfinnan enjoyed a 0-9 to 0-8 win over Loughmore-Castleiney in Holycross where Paul Kennedy's injury-time effort proved decisive.

Minus the services of county stars John McGrath and Liam Treacy, Loughmore had led by 0-6 to 0-5 at the break.

Having diced with relegation in recent seasons, Ardfinnan are looking forward to their first senior decider since 2005.

Meanwhile, in Cahir, Sean Carey's last minute goal saw Moyle Rovers dethrone rivals Clonmel Commercials, 2-7 to 0-11.

Commercials looked to have done enough after Seamus Kennedy pushed them into the lead late on but Carey had the final say for Rovers.

Having returned from Dubai two weeks ago, former Tipperary captain Peter Acheson was outstanding for Rovers in a dramatic victory.
