Graham perplexed over county final analysis

New Cavan manager Mickey Graham admits that he is unsure how to analyse ast Sunday’s dour Longford SFC final.

Graham’s Mullinalaghta were seeking a third consecutive title when they played out what can only be described as a drab affair against neighbours Abbeylara as the game finished 0-06 each.

The sides meet again this weekend, so Graham has little time to dwell on last weekend’s game, which the Cavan native might feel is as well off.

“When we sit down to analyse it I don’t know where to start,” Graham told the Longford Leader. “There was no football, no rhythm to the game whatsoever. The game was stop start and a few niggles off the ball.

“In fairness I thought Donal (Kane referee) handled best he could considering the conditions. It is what it is and we move on and hopefully we will do ourselves justice next weekend.”

Graham was due to stand down from his role with the Longford champions last weekend, but his stay has been prolonged by a week following the draw.

There are fifteen county finals taking place this weekend with ten of those in football. Join our match tracker on Sunday afternoon for live updates from around the county grounds.
