Team news: Tribesmen handed double boost

August 17, 2018

Galway's Gearoid McInerney and John Hanbury.

Galway's Gearoid McInerney has been passed fit to return to his centre-back berth for Sunday's All-Ireland SHC final against Limerick at Croke Park.

The Oranmore-Maree man is fully recovered from the calf injury which saw miss out on the 1-17 to 2-13 semi-final replay victory over Clare two weeks ago. His inclusion means manager Micheal Donoghue makes just one change which sees Niall Burke drop to the bench.

There's more good news for the Tribesmen as John Hanbury has been retained at corner-back despite reports the Rahoon-Newcastle ace is still suffering from an ankle injury he picked up in the previous outing at Semple Stadium.

Galway (All-Ireland SHC final v Limerick): James Skehill; Adrian Tuohy, Daithi Burke, John Hanbury; Padraic Mannion, Gearoid McInerney, Aidan Harte; Johnny Coen, David Burke; Joseph Cooney, Joe Canning, Jonathan Glynn; Conor Whelan, Conor Cooney, Cathal Mannion.
