Limerick captain Declan Hannon says the Treaty men will need to come with an intensity they haven't yet had this year to match Galway in Sunday's All-Ireland SHC final.

Speaking to the Limerick Leader this week, the Shannonsiders' centre-back said that the league meeting between the two counties, which saw Limerick turnaround an eight-point deficit to claim victory in Salthill, won't county for much this weekend.

"It was a turning point for us to get out of Division 1B but league and championship are different animals altogether with intensity and everything," he stated.

"Galway were coming back from the All Ireland last year and were a bit behind teams throughout the league and trying to get up to fitness and up to the tempo. It was a turning point for us but I don't think that match will have any bearing on the game on the 19th.

"We are going to have to come with an intensity that we probably haven't hit all year to match Galway because they are so strong and physical and skilful. We are going to have to match that for 70 minutes and if we do that we will be there-or-thereabouts."
