Paul Rouse has decided not to continue as Offaly football manager, citing work and family commitments as his reasons.

The Tullamore clubman was appointed manager on an interim basis following Stephen Wallace's removal in May and led the Faithful to an All-Ireland qualifier victory over Antrim before they lost narrowly to Clare in the next round.

Offaly chairman Tommy Byrne told RTE: "Paul and I spoke this morning. He has come to the conclusion he will not be able to stay on.

"We respect that and the great work he did."
