O'Reilly won't rule out Cavan job

Cavan Gaels manager Jason O'Reilly

Former Cavan ace Jason O'Reilly has not ruled himself out of the running to become the Breffni County's next senior football manager.

Having guided Cavan Gaels to a first Ulster club SFC final appearance in 40 years last season, O'Reilly has been widely mentioned as a front-runner to succeed Mattie McGleenan, who stood down from his post a week ago  following the end of his two-year term.

Speaking to The Anglo-Celt this week, the Belturbet clubman said that he hadn't given the job any thought.

"I haven't heard anything about it. To be honest, I haven't really thought about it. It's on your mind at some stage alright, I'm sure a lot of people have aspirations to manage their county but I haven't thought about it," said O'Reilly.

"There would be a lot of things I would have to take into consideration before I'd even think about it."

Mickey Graham (Cavan Gaels), Peter Reilly (Knockbride) and Finbar O'Reilly (Lacken) are the other local candidates also being mentioned for the vacant post.
