Wexford's Jack Guiney is ready for the opening round of the Leinster SHC if his performance for his club Rathnure last weekend is anything to go by.

Guiney lined out in the unfamiliar position of centre back for the SHC clash against Naomh Eanna last Saturday.

The Wexford star dominated proceedings from the heart of the defence and managed to notch an impressive 1-05 from placed balls, the goal coming from a penalty.

Wexford manager Davy Fitzgerald will be delighted to have Guiney available as his injury concerns ease ahead of the clash against Dublin on May 20th.

Also on duty in the Rathnure v. Naomh Eanna game was Cathal Dunbar who had a much publicised transfer from his native club Ballygarrett.

Dunbar scored a goal in the defeat to Rathnure, while his club and county team mate Conor McDonald notched three points.
