Louth manager Pete McGrath is breathing a sigh of relief after a leg injury sustained by star forward Ryan Burns in a club game yesterday wasn't as serious as first thought.

It was intially feared that Burns had suffered a broken leg during Hunterstown Rovers' Division 2 league win over St. Mochta's, but a scan showed there was no break and he's expected to be fit for Louth's Leinster SFC first round clash with Carlow on May 13.

"There was nothing broken, just tissue damage," Hunterstown GAA chairman Sean McClean told hoganstand.com.

"We were fearing the worst, but thankfully the injury isn't too serious. He scored two goals in the first 10 minutes and was absolutely flying, so it's a relief for both ourselves and the county team to know that he's alright."
