Limerick manager John Kiely is confident his charges can have a major say on this year's Munster SHC.
The new look Munster campaign begins next month and it's arguably the most eagerly awaited championship in many years as all five sides involved are genuine contenders for the provincial title.
Limerick's form in the league suggests that they will be one of the favourites for the Munster title and Kiely agrees with those thoughts after his side done so well in the NHL.
Following promotion from 1B, Limerick defeated Clare in the quarterfinal, before pushing Tipperary all the way in the semi-final where extra time was needed to separate the sides.
And now Kiely is looking forward to the championship starting as he told the Limerick Leader that last weekend's performance against Tipp proves that they can match the big teams in the country now.
"We can mix it with the best of them now," stated Kiely. "We played three really top teams in the last week and we have mixed it up with all three of them.
"And these teams have ambitions to be in Croke Park in July and August and why shouldn't we have ambitions to be in Croke Park in July and August. The facts are that we can mix it with the best of them now and we know that. There is a massive room for improvement in our team, the boys know that.
"We have a bit of work to do and we are going to get at it. We will get ready for May 20th when Tipp will come to the other side of the border and face us."
