Ever the perfectionist, Limerick manager John Kiely is in no doubt that they are far from the finished article.
A win over Clare in an epic NHL quarterfinal on Bank Holiday Monday was Limerick's ninth consecutive competitive win this year. A remarkable start to the year for a side that have unleashed a number of young players on the inter-county scene.
A Munster SHL win, promotion to NHL 1A and a place in the NHL semi-finals have all been achieved so far, but Kiely told the Limerick Leader that there is still work to be done.
"We have a lot of improving to do - we struggled on our puck outs in the first half against the breeze. We have a bit of work to do. It is what it is, we move on and get ready for the semi-final," said Kiely.
Limerick now play the winners of Dublin v. Tipperary in the semi-final and given the form that the Shannonsiders are in, it would take a brave man to bet against them reaching the final.
