Lawlor, Carmel

November 27, 2013
Carmel Lawlor, wife of the former chief reporter with the Wicklow People Nicholas Lawlor took place at a Wexford Hospital at the weekend. Carmel, like her husband and all the family, were staunch members of the St Patrick's GAA club and in fact she was a President of the club up to the time of her death.
Nicholas was a good hurler and won championship medals with the Fythe Harriers Club in Wexford before throwing in his lot with St Patrick's. Her son Patrick played hurling for St Patrick's and for the Wicklow county teams.
Carmel's remains were brought back to Wicklow to be interred alongside her husband in Rathnew cemetery. A minute's silence was observed at the games in Aughrim as a mark of respect.
Our sympathy to sons Patrick and David, daughters Nichola and Joann and her extended family.
May she rest in peace.
