One of the best known GAA families in south Wicklow were sadly bereaved last week with the death of Theresa Fitzgerald of Tomcoyle, Annacurra. Her late husband, Kevin, was the well known and respected gate man in Aughrim for many years.
Her son, Martin, is at present vice-chairman of the county board while daughter, May, is active in so many ways with club and county. Her grandsons play hurling and football with club and county.
In fact, the Fitzgerald family are involved in many ways with community and club. Theresa herself was a great card player and travelled far and wide to whist drives.
To her sisters, Mary and Kit, her sons, daughters and extended family we extent our sympathy. Her remains were removed from her home in Tomcoyle to St Brigids Church Annacurra on Thursday evening while burial took place after requiem mass on Friday. May they both rest in peace.
