Craul, Liam

January 22, 2014
The little villages of Kilbride and Oldcourt were shocked at the news of the sudden death of one of their favourite sons, Liam Craul last week. Apart from being a great family man, Liam was a fine footballer and played for club and county. He was part of a great Kilbride team that set the north west of the county on fire in the 1960s.
He was only a teenager when the club won the Junior championship in 1958 to get a place in senior ranks. By the time they reached their first senior final in 1962 he had won a place on the panel but his real glory day came when they beat the mighty men of Baltinglass in the final of '68.
Liam will be sadly missed by his wife, his two sons and daughter. Club members, neighbours and many friends turned out at Kilbride Church for his funeral. We extend our sympathy to his heart broken family.
