O'Loughlin, Willie
August 26, 2009
Aughrim GAA Club lost one of its Vice-Presidents recently with the death of Willie O'Loughlin (Snr), father of our current club chairman Willie (Jnr). Willie 'emigrated' from Ballymorris to Dublin in 1943 when he found employment in Guinness's along with his younger brother Jimmy. Along with his brothers Patsy and Jimmy, he played hurling and football with Aughrim, Ballymanus and Annacurra (and a few more besides!) He always maintained his link with Aughrim and was regularly to be seen in the area. Aughrim GAA Club provided a Guard of Honour at the removal of his remains to the Church in Finglas on Saturday 15th August. His funeral took place to Dardistown Cemetary on Monday 17th August.
The club extends its sympathy to his family.
