Hogan, Annie

June 11, 2008
The revent death of Annie Hogan, nee Jordan, took place at Beaumont Hospital, causing plenty of sadness in Rathdrum where she used to reside. Annie lived in Malahide in Dublin and was struck down with a short illness. Prior to that her home was on Station Road, Rathdrum and she was married to Glenealy man Jim Hogan. They had three daughters, Angela, Cora and Sarah and two sons, Paddy and James. Even though Annie no longer lived in Rathdrum, she still kept abreast of local goings on and was always delighted to welcome some old friends from Rathdrum to her Malahide home. An excellent camogie player in her youth, and kept in touch with all things GAA Club by reading the Wicklow People each week. There was a very large attendance when her remains were recieved in Rathdrum Parish Church by Fr. Brian O'Reilly P.P., Fr. William Kelly and Fr. Tom Scully. Fr. O'Reilly also talked of Annie's deep faith and generous nature during her funeral mass. Geraldine Cooper provided the lovely and suitable music and Annie was laid to rest in Rathdrum Cemetery.
