Ladies

Wicklow Intermediate Ladies - Sadly the Ladies will be back in the Junior Football Championship in 2020 after going down to a 6-12 to 4-13 defeat to Leitrimon Sun 11 Aug. Hard luck to our club player Kim Connors.

Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others - G4M team is looking for new members. If you fancy trying something new and meeting some new people, please come along and try it out on Tues evenings at 7pm.

U14’s – U14 girls white away v St Patrick’s on Tues 13 Aug at 7.30pm. On Thurs 15 Aug U14 girls Blue away v Carnew at 7.30pm.

U12’s – Well what a lovely round trip the under 12 girls blue had out west on Aug 6 - Blesso to Balto and back to Blesso again! But as usual the girls put in a stellar performance against Baltinglass and won the game on a score line of 7-8 to 0-01. Super work on some of the scores, great team play. POTM went to Cria for her super defensive work and Robyn Brennan for her scoring. well done girls. Onwards and upwards. 

Our girls U12s Blue team stepped out of the Wicklow league on 8 Aug taking on St Laurence's from Kildare in a challenge match. They provided a great and tough opposition but from the start our girls led by our captain fantastic Erin McMahon battled hard, won every ball and defended superbly winning the match 3-12 to 0-4. Everyone was super on the night and took on the learning from Tuesdays match but POTM tonight goes to super Eilish & Ella. Training next Tues at 6:30pm.

Juveniles

Leinster Blitz – Date for the diary. Blessington GAA will host our annual boys’ blitz for U8,9,10,11 on Sunday 8th September with 32 teams taking part from all over Leinster.

Rounders - Blessington GAA are looking at the possibility of starting Rounders teams for juvenile ages (boys & girls). It's an official GAA sport and even has own Féile. If any parent is interested in training and attending coaching, please contact Kevin Gilmore on 0872324197.

Wicklow U16’s - Wicklow GAA U16 footballers have advanced to play Laois in the shield final which will be played on Sat 17 Aug. Good luck to Daniel Cooney, Luke O’Brien and Jack Sargent.

Wicklow U14’s – Leinster Blitz in Blessington 11.30am to 2.30pm on Sat 17 Aug.

U17’s – Away v Eire Og on Mon 12 Aug at 7.15pm.

U15’s – Training on Mon at 7pm.

U12’s – This week our U12 boys played a friendly v St St Kevin's (Wicklow) on Wednesday night at home and with slow start lads gradually got into the game and played some excellent football. Tackling improved and scoring opportunities came and we finished very well. Lads won the game well in the end. Thanks to neighbours St Kevin's for travelling.

U13’s - Monday 12 Aug U13's have two games. Div 1 at home to St Nick's in last league game before Championship on August 26th. Div 3 begin their championship away to Carnew which will be tough opposition being their first team and our second. Best of luck to both teams.

U11’s – Fantastic win for the Blue Squad on Aug 7 against Bray who are top of league. 46pts-37pts. Brilliant performance in first with excellent scoring and shot taking options. Bit of pressure in the second half but the lads dug deep in the last 10 minutes when it mattered to come away with the victory. Well done lads and parents for the support.

Also, on 7 Aug the U11 White squad travelled to Rathnew and produced a great performance resulting in a big win for Blesso on a score line of 3-20 (63) to 8 pts (24). Special mention to two U9’s who played Fionn Whelan and Senan Fisher, top class. The 2 lads fitted in perfectly as we were down numbers with holidays. 2 big wins for the 11’s. Well done to all.

Wicklow Senior Hurling Championship – Well done to David Williamson who was on the winning Kiltegan team who beat Avondale on Sun 11 Aug 1-17 to 1-13.

Wicklow U15’s - Well done to the U15s Wicklow hurling team on a great win on Sat 10 Aug. Blessington lads on the team Sam Gough, Austin Brennan, Conor Richardson and Adam Williamson. Full-time Abbotstown Wicklow 4-14 Down 1-10.

Wicklow U14’s - Wicklow hurling team had a great win on Sat 10 Aug. Blessington GAA lads on the team Finn Behan and Brian Richardson. Full-time Wicklow 1 – 09Antrim 1 – 04.

U11’s – U11 hurlers away v Aughrim on Wed 14 Aug at 7.30pm.
