Seniors – Well done to the seniors who beat Eire Og Greystones in round 3 in Aughrim on Sun 4 Aug on a scoreline Blessington 2-13 to Eire Og 1-04. 

Junior A– The lads were well beaten in Round 2 by Valleymount in Hollywood on Fri 2 Aug. Final score Blessington 0-06 Valleymount 2-18. Next up is a home match v Eire Og Greystones at 6.45pm on Sat 17 Aug.

Junior C – Junior C start their championship campaign away to St Pat’s on Thurs 8 Aug at 7.30pm. Following that it’s a home game v Donard/The Glen on Thurs 15 Aug at 7.30pm.

Physio - Upstairs in the clubhouse this coming week on Wed 7 Aug at 7pm. Adults needing full physio appointments MUST go through Pat Molloy and Juvenile through Barry Cotter.

U14’s – U14 Girls A Championship Blessington 5-28 Bray 2-2. Well done to the U14 girls’ blue squad who kickstarted their championship on Tues 30 Jul with a convincing win at home to Bray. The girls got off to an excellent start with an exceptional second half display of football. Who’d have thought our POTM just spent a month away from the pitches with the shift put in - super game AislingBrennan. Well done girls.

U12’s – Another great win for our U12’s White team against a strong and determined Kilcoole in a great game. From the start the girls battled hard and never gave up from back line lead by captain Aoibhinn Daly through to front. So hard to pick POTM but it goes to the unstoppable Hannah Cunningham & Alanah McNulty. Score 1-7 v 0-4. Thanks for all the support on the sidelines. Next up Blue team v Baltinglass away on Tues 6 Aug at 7.30pm. No white training on Tues. U12 girls at home v St Lawrences on Thurs 8 Aug at 7.15pm.

Juveniles

Leinster Blitz – Date for the diary. Blessington GAA will host our annual boys’ blitz for U8,9,10,11 on Sunday 8th September with 32 teams taking part from all over Leinster.

Rounders - Blessington GAA are looking at the possibility of starting Rounders teams for juvenile ages (boys & girls). It's an official GAA sport and even has own Féile. If any parent is interested in training and attending coaching, please contact Kevin Gilmore on 0872324197.

Wicklow U16’s - Wicklow GAA under 16 footballers recorded their third victory on the bounce overcoming Antrim in the semi-final of the Gerry Reilly Shield in Abbotstown. They now advance to play Laois in the shield final which will be played on Sat 17 Aug. Wicklow 4-17 Antrim 3-7. Well done to Daniel Cooney, Luke O’Brien and Jack Sargent.

U15’s - Training on Mon at 7pm. U15 at home v Bray on Wed 7 Aug at 7.15pm in the 2nd round of the championship.

Wicklow GAA County U14 Development Football Squad Update - Squad of approximately 49 players from 19 Clubs represented including Blessington. The lads from the club are – Brian Richardson, Finn Behan, Dylan Friel and Sean Ellis. They started off in February with a Block of Strength & Conditioning (S&C) for 6 weeks. Field sessions followed this to prepare for Leinster Games. The group have played in 4 Leinster Tournaments so far with one still to play Mid- August.

U11’s – U11’s Blue at home v Bray Emmets Blue at 7.15pm pm Wed 8 Aug. U11 boys White away v Rathnew Green on Wed 8 Aug at 7.15pm.
