Rathnew club notes

July 29, 2019

Rathnew Gaa 1885 is the clubs one and only official Facebook page. Any other page with our name has nothing to do with our club is not run by anyone in our club.

Jerseys and any other club gear are now on sale on the Rathnew shop on the O'Neill's website or just follow the link on our Facebook page

We had no winner of the lotto jackpot on the 22th July. Numbers  3, 8, 18, 21. We had 3 match 3 Ross&clara c/o Doyle's, Veronica Doyle c/o Lawrence Ellis, Tom Porter c/o Centra. At the time of writing the jackpot stands at €12,000. Get your tickets from Doyle's, The Arches, The Village Inn, Rockies, Healy's Mini Market, View hair & beauty, Malone's, Dowling's Butchers and Centra every Friday and Saturday evening. Thanks to everyone who supports our lotto.

The 2019 Kellogg's cul camp dates have been released. Rathnew will be hosting it the week starting the 12th of August. It's always a brilliant week for the kids so book early on kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie or follow the link on our Facebook page.

The nursery continues every Saturday morning at 11.15 and it's for all kids aged 3 upwards so feel free to bring your little ones up and give it a try.

We have got our new fence finished on the clubhouse side of the pitch. We'd like to thank every member, supporter, lotto ticket sellers, lotto ticket buyer and anyone who has supported the club in anyway because without your help none of this would be possible.

With the championship season started the county board are offering a season ticket for €100 or €75 for oap which will give you access to all championship matches in both football and hurling including county finals. So with the 3 of our teams hopefully all having a good run in the championship it might be worth a look at. Contact the county board office in Ballinakill for details.

The club is running a draw for tickets to both the All Ireland senior football and hurling finals. Tickets are €2 each or 3 for €5 and are available from any committee member and at Saturday morning coaching.

Massive well done to the Junior B team who won the county division 4 league on Thursday night defeating Dunlavin 0-15 to 1-06 in Aughrim. This team has gone through the league undefeated and will now set their sights on the championship which starts next week Thursday 8th away to Baltinglass at 8pm. The intermediate team will be looking to build on their last championship win against Stratford when they take on Carnew on Friday night at 7.30 in Avondale while the seniors are in Aughrim at 5 on Saturday against Tinahely. Both teams need all the support possible so let's try get out there and support the lads.

The club sends its condolences to the family of Mollie Staunton (Glenealy) on her recent passing. May she rest in peace.
