Newtown club notes

July 15, 2019

Congratulations to Sarah Nolan and Ronan Keddy on their recent wedding, Sarah has been a long serving member of our ladies team but both bride and groom are teachers in our local Newtown primary school. Everyone in the club would like to wish you both many years of health & happiness.

Newtown ladies team sailed past Bray Emmets by a score line of 4-14 to 1-3 last Monday. The ladies had their first outing with their new gear. Again kindly donated by @absolutefortyseven who have been a massive supporter of our club the past couple of years.

Newtown seniors first championship match against Rathnew was played in great conditions last Tuesday, Newtown were leading by three points at half time and could have easily come away with a shock result however Rathnews experience held up in the end. Rathnew ran out four point winners in the end. Next up is Tinahely this Saturday in Aughrim at 5pm. It was fantastic to see such a great Newtown crowd at the Rathnew game and the team are hopeful for the same crowd for the next game!

Well done to our u7’s and u9’s in Kilmac Go Games last week. It was great to see a couple of new faces join the u7’s as Lucy And Evan made the jump up from our nursery programme to join Ali, Ruby, Darcy, Jake and Peter Our u9’s are continuously developing and growing in numbers!! 19 in the panel now with Ben playing his first match since breaking his leg and new comers Matthew and Shane  Well done to all teams taking part Ashford, great to see Fergal Og there and hosts Kilmac, especially for the ice pops after. Next blitz is in Newtown this coming Friday July 19th

The lotto rolled over again and now sits at €3400, numbers drawn were 01 08 25 27. One person took away €200 by matching three numbers. Please buy a ticket and help support the club.
