Fundraiser: Blessington GAA Club held a Golf Classic on Friday 12th July in Craddockstown Golf Club. Many thanks to all who supported the fundraiser. Report next week.

Seniors – A win for the lads last week in the opening game of the Championship against Bray 3-11 to 2-11. Next up is Sat July 20 in Aughrim v Baltinglass at 6.45pm. Please support.

Juniors– Opening match for the juniors in the Championship v Hollywood in Valleymount on Fri 19 July at 7.30pm. Please support.  

Physio - Upstairs in the clubhouse this coming week on Tues 16 July at 7pm. Adults needing full physio appointments MUST go through Pat Molloy and Juvenile through Barry Cotter.

Ladies

Seniors – Away b Ballinteer St Johns on /wed 17 Jul at 7.30pm.

Juniors – Away v Ballymore on Tues 16 Jul at 8pm.

County Ladies Intermediate Championship – The ladies made the trip to Pearse Park in Longford town on Sun 14 July to take on Longford in the TG4 Ladies Intermediate Football Championship and took home a share of the spoils. Score 2-16 to 4-10.

Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others - G4M team is looking for new members. If you fancy trying something new and meeting some new people, please come along and try it out.

U16’s – Blessington Blue v Baltinglass at home on Tuesday 16 July at 7.30pm. Blessington White at home v Kilcoole on Thurs 18 Jul at 7.30pm.

County U12’s – Wicklow Under 12 squads travelled to Portlaoise on 6 Jul to take part in the Leinster Blitz. Blessington was represented by Robyn Brennan, Ella Richardson, Leah Richardson, Annie O’Riordan, Paige McDonald, Erin McMahon, Susie Cronin, Emma Carpenter, Eilis Reid, Ava O’Driscoll, Cria Cullen.

U12’s - What a performance on July 9 for the Under 12 girls White team V Coolkenno, to lead the whole way and then lose by two points to a flukey goal in the last few minutes. It just shows us coaches how far along you have come as a team. Well done to you all, super proud of each one of you. There were some great performances out there but POTM had to go to Willow and Georgia, brilliant determination girls. This team is getting stronger and stronger and the hard work in training is really paying off. Keep up the great work kids. Thanks also to everyone who brought up goodies and the parents who helped, hope you all enjoyed the great match tonight. Onwards and upwards girls. Score: 6pts to 1-5. Next up is U12 girls white away v Ashford on Thurs 18 Jul at 7.15pm. U12 girls Blue at home v Rathnew on Fri 19 Jul at 7.30pm. U12 girls blitz in Ballinakill on Sun 21 Jul at 10am.

U8’s and U10’s – A massive well done to all the U8 & U10 girls who participated in the blitz at home on Sat 13 July. What a brilliant turn out, 21 teams involved. A big thanks to all the coaches and parents for their help. It was all hands-on deck! Terrific morning of football.

Juveniles

2019 Football Cul Camp – 200 kids enjoyed a terrific week of fun, games and skills at the Blessington GAA Cul Camp 8 – 12 Jul.

U17’s – On Mon 15 Jul at 7.15pm away v Bray Emmets.

U13’s – at 7.15 on Mon 15 July at home Blessington Blue v Eire Og Greystones Blue. Also, on Mon 15 Blessington White away v St Patricks White at 7.15pm. Wed 17 Jul v Rathvilly at home at 7pm.

U11’s – On Mon 15 Jul at 7.15pm away v Kilmacanogue v Blessington White.

U7’s/U9’s – Go Games on Sat Jul 20 in Hollywood at 11am.  

Academy – Academy for boys and girls aged 4 to 6 is held every Sat at 10am. Further info from Graham 0876393125. The boys and girls are enjoying the fresh fruit provided by the club to the academy. This is an initiative of our new Health and Well Being Officer Lisa Jackson. Thanks to the Senior men and ladies who help every week.

 

Hurling

Hurling – Girls and boys of all abilities aged 6 and upwards are invited to join the Blessington GAA Hurling Club where you will learn to play an exciting sport in a fun and relaxed environment. All ages train regularly. If any child is interested please join our WhatsApp group b sending your name and phone number and email to Jack Whelan @0876678936 and we will keep you up to date with everything that is happening with hurling in Blessington, Valleymount, Kilbride and Lacken. Volunteers are always needed, so if any Mums or Dads wishing to relive their glory days on the pitch are welcome to help. Send your details to Jack and register your interest. All welcome. We look forward to meeting all our new players.

U11’s – Away v Avondale on Tues 16 Jul. TBC.

U9’s - Well done to the U9 hurlers who won all three matches at the monster blitz in Ballinakill on Sat 13 July. Everyone played brilliant! They’re a great bunch of lads. Remember to keep practicing over the holidays and a big thanks to the parents for traveling out. See you all at training on Thursday.
