Rathnew club notes

July 15, 2019

Rathnew Gaa 1885 is the clubs one and only official Facebook page. Any other page with our name has nothing to do with our club is not run by anyone in our club.

Jerseys and any other club gear are now on sale on the Rathnew shop on the O'Neill's website or just follow the link on our Facebook page

We had no winner of the lotto jackpot on the 8th July. Numbers 1, 15, 16, 19. We had one match 3 Holly Dunne c/o Darren Newsome. At the time of writing the jackpot stands at €11,600. Get your tickets from Doyle's, The Arches, The Village Inn, Rockies, Healy's Mini Market, View hair & beauty, Malone's, Dowling's Butchers and Centra every Friday and Saturday evening from 5.30pm. Thanks to everyone who supports our lotto.

The 2019 Kellogg's cul camp dates have been released. Rathnew will be hosting it the week starting the 12th of August. It's always a brilliant week for the kids so book early on kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie or follow the link on our Facebook page.

The nursery continues every Saturday morning at 11.15 and it's for all kids aged 3 upwards so feel free to bring your little ones up and give it a try.

A massive thanks to Gaelic Plant Hire for once again coming on board as the main sponsor of the juvenile section of the club. Thanks to Keith, Noel and team for their continued support.

We have got our new fence finished on the clubhouse side of the pitch. We'd like to thank every member, supporter, lotto ticket sellers, lotto ticket buyer and anyone who has supported the club in anyway because without your help none of this would be possible.

With the championship season started the county board are offering a season ticket for €100 or €75 for oap which will give you access to all championship matches in both football and hurling including county finals. So with the 3 of our teams hopefully all having a good run in the championship it might be worth a look at. Contact the county board office in Ballinakill for details.

Well done to the Junior B team who wrapped up the north east league on Thursday with a comprehensive win against Ashford 3-22 to 1-05 to make it 11 wins from 11. Great credit to all the players and to the management team of Alan Clark and Jamie McNabb. Next up is Bray Emmets away on Thursday at 8pm. The senior team got their championship campaign up and running with a hard fought victory against Newtown in Ashford eventually pulling ahead with a good second half showing winning by 2-13 to 2-09. Next up in the championship is AGB in Aughrim on Sunday at 5pm. The intermediate team lost out to Dunlavin in the championship 1-18 to 1-04 in Aughrim on Wednesday and now face Stratford on Saturday in Roundwood at 6.45. Both teams need as much support as possible so please try to get out and cheer them on. The under 11 reds had a great victory away to Blessington on Wednesday to keep their good form going.
