Leighton Glynn went out of his way recently to pay tribute to one of his biggest admirers.

Glynn, who has served the Garden County with distinction in both codes and is a current football selector, presented Coolboy GAA legend Christy Gregan with a signed and framed Wicklow jersey at a special function to recognise the latter’s contributions to both Coolboy Post Office and Coolboy GAA.

One of the founding members of Coolboy GAA Club, Christy has stepped down from his role as postmaster in Coolboy after 57 years’ service.

To mark his service to both bodies, Coolboy chairman Damien O’Keeffe and stalwart Michael Gregan arranged for his hero, the aforementioned Glynn, to turn up in person make the special presentation to his biggest fan. Leighton was only too happy to oblige.
