Congratulations to Dean Healy County Senior Footballer and Stephen Duffy Club Senior Footballer who received their Cuchulainn trophies at the Garden County Award Night last Saturday 19th January 2019 in The Arklow Bay Hotel. St Patrick's GAA Club are honoured to have two of our senior lads Jack Dunne and Ronan Murray who received their Bursary award from the county schools team for college on the night. Congratulations to Avondale legend and three-time senior hurling champion Jimmy O'Shaughnessy who was inducted into the Wicklow GAA Hall of Fame. A great night was had by all who attended with a large contingent from St. Patrick's GAA Club.

 

 

St Patrick's GAA Club Annual Dinner Dance will be held on Saturday 9th March at 8pm in the Arklow Bay Hotel. Reserve the date now. More details to follow.

Congratulations to Stephen McNulty and his band of umpires Damien O’Brien, Donal Marron and Dave Fitzgerald who received their National Referee & Match Official awards at the LGFA Presentation Night with LGFA President Marie Hickey on Saturday evening.

Do you want to play adult ladies football? St Patrick's LGFA are hosting a players meeting on Saturday 26th January at 6pm

in the clubhouse to discuss the year ahead. It is really important that all players attend to discuss our plans. All welcome.

Award 2 Football Youth / Adult Course

Leinster GAA in conjunction with Wicklow GAA will be running Award 2 Football Youth / Adult Coach Education Course.

The Award 2 Coach Education course is the third award on the coaching pathway of Gaelic games. The course is aimed at coaches that have progressed through the Foundation Award and Award 1 programs and have experience as a Coach. The course covers a number of key modules, as well as Introductory and Conclusion modules. The focus of the course is the “Why to do it” and further development of the coaching skills by placing the participant in situations that they will face as coaches – the organisation of games activities, activities to develop skill and activities to develop the various physical fitness skills.

Course cost: €150 per person payable before the first session

Become a GAA Referee our Games need You. New referees required to service our games in both Juvenile & Adult for 2019. All Clubs are required to identify suitable candidates who are willing to contribute to Wicklow GAA. We need to be self sufficient to cater for all games in Hurling & Football. Let’s not be in a position where we have to call off games because we have no referees. Let’s take ACTION now. This course runs for three nights Tuesday 5th February at 7.30pm Tuesday 12th February and Tuesday 26th February in Wicklow GAA Centre of Excellence at 7.30pm to book you places please contact Hugh Kenny 087 2718537 or Paul Wilson 087 2551404

St Patrick’s GAA held the 2018 Annual General Meeting in the Clubhouse on Thursday November 29th at 8pm. We wish the incoming committee the best of luck for 2019:

Individuals interested in managing adult playing teams for 2019 should submit their name and management team proposals to the Secretary. Management teams will be appointed by the Executive Committee.

 

St Patrick's Juvenile section held their AGM on Thursday 22nd November at 8pm in St Patrick's GAA Club House. Alan Lawlor opened the meeting. There was a frank and open discussion in respect of all age groups from Nursery to U17’s. The following officers were returned for ratification to the club executive: Chairperson: Alan Lawlor, Secretary: Brian Gleeson, Treasurer: Brian Finnegan, Football Officer: Daragh McEvoy, Hurling Officer: Paddy Culleton and Committee Member: Gerry Phelan

Our sincere condolences to the family of Gemma CRENNAN (née Lawlor), Templeogue, Dublin / Wicklow Town, Wicklow, formerly director of Access Waste, who passed away after a tough journey with cancer in St. James' Hospital, on January 16th, 2019. 
A great wife to John, the best mam in the world to Michaela, Jack, Beth and Nick, greatly loved youngest child of Michael and late Betty Lawlor, adored sister of Mary, Michael, Anne, Barry and Niall, special auntie to all her nieces and nephews, super daughter-in-law to Cora and Nicholas Crennan, treasured sister-in-law, godmother and friend to many. As Gemma was involved in fundraising, if you would like to donate to I.C.S. in lieu of flowers, this would be appreciated.

Our sincere condolences to the family of Geraldine Dunne (née Kinsella) St. Patrick's Avenue, Wicklow Town,14th January 2019, who has passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Our sincere condolences to the family of Margaret (Peggy) Harbourne (nee Carroll), Dunbur Road, Wicklow Town. Who in her 95th year has passed away peacefully at St Vincent's University Hospital, following a short illness. Beloved wife of the late Paddy and sister of the late Marie (Kinsella), Matt and George. Much loved mother of David and George and adored grandmother of Eva, Matthew and Daniel. Sadly missed by her family, brothers Dick and Louis, daughters-in-law Colette and Winifred, nephew, nieces, extended family and wide circle of friends.
