Leinster Club SFC: Rhode one bridge too far for newly crowned Wicklow champs

Two matches in two days proved too much for St Patrick’s as they lost out to Rhode in today’s Leinster Club SFC clash at Aughrim.

Just 24 hours after dethroning Rathnew in the Wicklow SFC final replay, they were beaten 2-16 to 1-9 by the Offaly standard bearers.

The first-half finished with Rhode 0-10 to 0-5 to the good and second-half goals from Ciaran Heavey and Anton Sullivan sent them on the road to a quarter-final date with St Columbas, Mullinalaghta.
