Glenealy manager Gary Laffan has revealed that they have never discussed winning back to back titles.

The defending champions are just 60 minutes away from doing just that as they put in their final preparations for Sunday’s county decider.

Laffan states in the Wicklow People that they have never discussed winning back to back titles, and that it has been a case of taking the campaign at one game at a time.

“We’d no expectations to be honest, we just set out at the start of the year the same as we had last year as a group and got stuck into training,” said Laffan.

“We played our league matches and just took it one game at a time and we knew realistically, once we get down to the knockout stages and the real championship started; that was our aim to get to that stage.

“We’ve been a little unsettled. We’ve had a few injuries and we had a few lads away during the summer and we’d lads carrying injuries but then there was five or six young lads after stepping up to the plate and they’ve put their names forward for positions.”
