Div 1 - Renault Senior championship. Well done to our Seniors who had a nice win over Newtown on Sat 28 July in Aughrim 2-12 to 2-06. Team: Stephen Kitt, Barry Murphy, Stephen Bohan, Aaron Curran, Carolan Mc Gorman, Wayne Callaghan, Kevin Hanlon, Gavin Murray, Kevin John Rodgers, Eoin Keogh, Patrick O Connor, Jack Cotter, Curtis Geraghty, Conor Ryan, Mikey O Connor. Subs used Anthony Mc Loughlin, David Boothman, Declan Fennessy, Michael Nugent, Dean Siney. Scorers Patrick O Connor 2-3 Mikey O Connor 0-4 Curtis Geraghty 0-4 Kevin John Rodgers 0-1. Next up Sun 5th Aug in Aughrim 7pm v AGB.

Jun B - Jun B Championship v An Tochar at home on Thurs 26 Jul. Blessington 4-22 An Tochar 0 -09. Team: Shane Breen, Bradley Foster, Sean Mc Garr, Damian Breen, Glen Farrell, Danielius Saukauskas, Ciaran Mescall, James Kearns, Adam Boland (1.4), Stephen Carroll ( 0.5), David Behan (0.1 ), Eddie Boylan ( 0.3 ), Conor Devlin ( 1.2 ), Sean Mescall ( 2.7 ), Ian Richardson, Barry Behan.

Jun C - AGB gave a walkover to Blessington last week in the Jun C football championship fixture on Fri 27 Jul. They finally get a chance to start in the championship v Donard/The Glen at home at 7.30pm on Fri 3 Aug.

Ladies

Blessington GAA Ladies 25 Anniversary Celebrations - Our Ladies 25 Year Celebrations is only a few weeks away Sat 25 Aug. We have an action-packed day not to be missed. All welcome, we look forward to seeing old & new friends of the club, past & present players and management and the wider community. Come along and join in the craic of this wonderful occasion.

Senior Ladies - The Blessington Senior Ladies drew with Baltinglass on Fri evening in the Div1 Wicklow ladies league on a score of 4-13 to 3-16 in a hard fought game by both teams in Blessington.The girls where brilliant from start to finish in an absolute thriller of a game. There was performances all over the pitch in a super TEAM effort especially from Laura Allen, Jess Brennan, Kim Connors, Anna Vas and a special mention to Niamh Cullen who was absolutely brilliant tonight. Tinahealy up next for the girls in the championship on August 10th at home. Scorers: Laura Allen 1-6, Roisin Ellis 2-1, Jess Brennan 1-4, Shona O'Connor 0-1, Niamh Cullen 0-1.

U14 girls - The Blue team are away v Tinahely on Tues 31 Jul at 7.30pm. U14 white team at home v Valleymount of Wed 1 Aug at 7.30pm.

 

U12 girls - Our Girls U12 Blue Team travelled to Tinahely for their first A Championship match tonight. An excellent game of football with an outstanding second half performance where unfortunately we had our first defeat in two seasons. A loss by the smallest of margins in a high scoring game. It was end to end football and our girls can hold their heads high with the excellent work rate and amount of turnovers won. Exceptional performances from Roisin Doyle Anna Carlyon & Aibhe King. Score 8-5 to 6-10. Scorers: Sophie O'Driscoll 3-1, Aisling Brennan, 2-3 Leila Shannon, 1-2 Aibhe King 0-3, Anna Carlyon 0-1. We have entered 3 teams in the U12 Championship so lots of football still to come from the 3 panels. Next Thurs 2nd Aug our White and Pink teams are both away v AGB at 7.30pm.

U12 girls Blue, White and Pink teams are at home v St Lawrences 1, 2and 3 on Tues 31 Jul at 7pm.

Juvenile boys

U17's - First match of the championship away v St Patrick's Wicklow Town on Mon 30 Jul at 7.15pm. Thanks to Liam Kearney of Kbowl, Naas for sponsoring the new shirts and training tops for the lads. They were welcomed to Kbowl on Fri last for entertainment and food. Thanks to all who are sponsoring our Minor team this year - Kbowl Naas, Scallan Food Service in conjunction with Dublin Food Sales.

Wicklow U16's - Wicklow under-16 footballers defeated Laois in Aughrim in the Leinster Under-16 Gerry Reilly Championship on a scoreline of 4-9 to 0-9 on Sat 28 Jul. Jake O'Kelly on the panel.

Wicklow U15's - Competed in the first series of games in the Alan Mangan Tournament in Offaly on Sat 28 Jul with three games of 20 minute halves so over 140 minutes of football was played. The lads had a win v Leitrim and Wexford 2 and a narrow loss to Fermanagh. Well done to the lads who participated from the club - Niall O'Gallchobhair, Jack Sargent, Luke O'Brien and Daniel Cooney.

Wicklow U14's - Well done also to Sam Gough, Conor Richardson, James Dooley and Lukas Sarkauskas who played with Wicklow v Carlow and Meath on Sat 28 Jul in Blessington.

 

U15's - The lads played Baltinglass away on Wed 25 Jul. Due to holidays and injuries we could only field 14. Under the rules if a team starts 2nd half with 14 the game is conceded. The lads played full game 14 v 15 and played with heart to the end. Training on Mon at 7pm. Away v St Nicks on Wed 1 Aug at 7.15pm.  

U13's- At home v Rathnew on Wed 1 Aug at 7.15pm.

U11's - Blessington GAA U11 boys blue squad. Unfortunately, due to low numbers we only fielded one team. Well done to the 2008 kids who played with blue squad tonight and had a fantastic win and enjoyed by all. Finally, thanks to An Tochar for travelling with low numbers also.

Hurling

Dacia Senior Hurling Championship - Kiltegan beat Carnew in Round 2 in Aughrim on Sun 29 Jul 0-12 to 1-08. Well done to David Williamson who played full game and Eoin Higgins who was on the panel.

U17's - Michael Dywers v Carnew on Mon 6 Aug at 7.15pm.  Michael Dwyers v Glen Pats at 7.15pm on Fri 10 Aug.

U15's - Well done to the 15 boys from the club who attended LIT Hurling School of Excellence for a few days hurling under the guidance of John Conlan (Clare), Aaron Gillane & Cian Lynch (both Limerick).

Kelloggs Cul Camps - A great time was had by all the boys and girls who attended the Kellogg's GAA Cúl Camp on July 23rd - July 27th. Thanks to all the coaches especially our own club members.  Can everyone who was at the Cul Camp today check their children's tops. There is a top with JF on it that is missing. Presumed that someone has it as there are no tops left behind. Still have boots in a Man Utd boot bag, a pair of gloves, a couple of hats and a number of tops from the first Cul Camp. If not claimed by 3 Aug they will be recycled. Contact Noreen on 0872858375.
