Wicklow U20's - The Wicklow U20s concluded their season with a not unexpected heavy defeat to a better-prepared Kildare side in Newbridge on Saturday. Our three lads, Jack Cotter, Aaron Curran and Conall O'Gallchobhair were key players on this team and represented us very well. Special mention must go to Conall for the quality of his performances at full back, especially since he's being playing two years above his age.

Wicklow Ladies - Well done to Mick O'Rourke and his mentors on a great win with the ladies on Sun 17 Jun as the ladies faced Longford in the TG4 Ladies Leinster Intermediate Semi-final in Longford. The Wicklow ladies had a comprehensive won on a score line of 3-13 to 0-04.  Leinster Intermediate Championship Final on Sun 1 Jul in Dr Cullen Park, Carlow when Wicklow will play Laois . Well done to all but especially our club ladies Kim and Shona.

Senior Ladies - Not to be missed. A weekend of celebrating 25 wonderful years of our Ladies section of the club. Details tba very soon. Ladies are away v Bray on Sat 23 Jun at 7pm.

U14 girls - Our U14 girls team had their final games this week in their respective leagues.

On Tues 12 Jun, our White team played Coolkenno away. This was very much a game of two halves. Coolkenno started the game much stronger and but helped by a strong defensive display by our full back line of Aislinn, Erin and Sophie, we were able to keep their scoring down. The half time score was Coolkenno 4 points, Blessington 2 points. Our girls came out much stronger in the second half and eventually got the scores back on level terms. Our team pushed for the win but it was a game were the defences from both teams were on top in a low-scoring game and the game finished as a draw. Niamh, Ashling and Leila were the Blessington scorers. Thanks to the parents who travelled down to support our girls on Tuesday night. Final Score: Coolkenno 0 - 05, Blessington 0 - 05.

On Thurs 14 Jun our Blue team played AGB in their final game in Div 1. This was a competitive game with two evenly-matched teams. Blessington played against the wind in the first half and started strongly and had some good scoring chances but couldn't hit the target given the conditions. Blessington went in at half time with a deserved lead of 2 - 00 to 0 - 01 thanks to two well taken goals by Sadhbh and a strong defensive display. AGB started the second half strongly and the Blessington defence & midfield had to be at their best to keep them out, our girls then got on top in the final quarter with some great plays from Kayleigh O'N, Alana, Sophie and we ended deserving winners and are currently now joint top of Division 1. Thanks to all who came out and gave our girls such great support on the night. Final Score: Blessington 3 - 04 AGB 1 - 02. Training as usual on Tuesdays & Thursdays, it is important that all girls attend as we prepare for the upcoming Championship in July & August.

Juvenile boys

U12's - The ongoing wait for opposition to be clarified for the NKL U12 Cup semi-final is now resolved and we are playing St Edwards instead of Nass at home at 7pm on Tues 19 Jun on the main pitch.Should Blessington boys progress finals day is Sat 23rd next in Newbridge. Lads have put in some great performances of late to get to this stage.

U11's -  Blue squad home to Eire Og 1. Lads probably had best start of a game this year to date and played excellent football against the very strong wind and short passing was key to their excellently worked scores and they pushed on well in second half to win out well in the end.

White squad home to Ashford again started well and it was a very close game at half time but after a great talk between players and coach really pushed on in second half with excellent play from all players and won out well at the end.

Red squad had short away trip to Lacken/Kilbride and played some excellent football throughout and came away with great win which is never most important part for all our squads development is key.

Thanks to Eire Og and Ashford for travelling on very bad night of weather and thanks to Kilbride/Lacken for hosting.

Thanks to refs also did a great job on such a bad night.

U10's - At home v Allenwood on Thurs 21 Jun at 7.30pm. U10's at home v Eadestown on Sat 23 Jun at 3.30pm.

U9's - The under 9's played at home to Ardclough on the Astro in Nkl. The lads had a lightning start to the game and produced some of their best football of the year. One of the biggest highlights for the coaches was that we played very well in all 4 quarters and delivered on all the instructions they were given. Brilliant score taking, moving the ball without touches and fast tackling were on show throughout ... Well done lads. U9's Go Games in Ballinakill on Sat 23 Jun at 11am.

U8's - At home v Cappagh and Eadestown at home on Sat 23 Jun at 2.30pm.

U7's -  We hosted Raheens and Eadestown in U7 NKL at home on Sat 16 Jun. We had 20 players togged out and came out on top in both games. We played some good football BUT it's the work rate of these kids that makes them stand out in matches.

Academy - Blessington GAA Academy present "A Festival of Fun" on Sat 23 June at 10am to 11.15am on the Astro. Come down and see how the 4-6 year olds (the future of the club) have gained skills and confidence.

Go Games - We host Football Go Games on Sat 23 Jun with teams from Kilbride/Lacken, Valleymount and Hollywood attending at 11am.

U12's -Western Gaels - NKL Shield winners. Congratulations to all the Blessington players who formed part of the Western Gaels under 12 hurling squad that won the Div 3 Shield in Hawkfield, Newbridge on Sat16 Jun v Moorefield. Another epic encounter between these two committed teams. Western Gaels started well to lead at half time, but with 5 minutes left Moorefield had come back very strongly to trail by only 3 points. The Gaels held on to win in the end by 4-6 to 3-3 - in a terrific match.Blessington players on team, Oisin O'Neill, Frankie Kerr Gibbons, Max Kehoe, Senan Gardiner, Fergal Brogan, Luke Higgins, Dean Carey, Philip Hopkins & Thomas Walsh - Well done all.
