Dublin had minimal fuss as they thumped Wexford at Parnell Park tonight to advance into the Leinster U20 football championship final.
Ciaran Archer’s goal seconds into the restart sealed the deal for the young capital men whom now face Laois in a provincial decider on Friday week.
Coming into this semi-final as 1/100 favourites, the Dubs had the first four scores on the board before Wexford got off the mark 13 minutes via a fine score from Sean Nolan.
A Jamie Myler free made it a four-point game again on 21 minutes prior to the victors taking over proceedings and it was points from Archer, James Doran and Brian O’Leary which saw them leading by 0-9 to 0-2 at the half.
Archer landed a quick 1-1 in the opening two minutes of the restart to kill off any hope for the Slaneysiders and the home side would stretch the margin out to 13 with more overs from Ross McGarry and O’Leary.
A brace of points by Michael Molloy was the Model response but they’d no answer to their opponents dominance throughout the hour, as Archer went on to finish with 1-8 and usher the Dubs comfortably through to another Leinster final.
