The Late Dermot Hayes The sudden death has taken place of well-known local farmer Dermot Hayes, From Hayestown. Mr Hayes who was 63, collapsed at his family home. He was very active in GAA circles, one of the keenest supporters of the St. Martin's club, 'who never missed a match in Ireland'. In addition he had served as a steward in Wexford Park since it re-opened for games in 2001. Married to Vera, the couple have two children, David and Fiona and he has two brothers Con and Kevin. Removal will be from his family home to Murrintown Church and his funeral to take place after 12 noon Requiem Mass with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Courtesy of the Wexford People 18th May 2005
