Shock at passing of 35-year-old Edwin The death, in tragic circumstances, of 35-year old Wexford man Edwin Doyle has caused much shock and disbelief amongst his family and many friends. Edwin, the second eldest son of Joe and Breda Doyle from Barrack street, was found dead in his flat in Dublin. Devastating blow A sensitive and well like young man, his death has been a devastating blow to all who knew him, including his many friends in the St. Mary's of Maudlinstown GAA Club. Edwin played football with St. Mary's for many years, and earned county juvenile and minor medals with the team in the mid 1980's. Many of his team mates from that time carried club jerseys and formed a guard of honour at his funeral on Saturday. A painter and decorator by trade, Edwin served his apprenticeship with Turners. A jovial and fun loving individual, Edwin enjoyed a good social life,and the company of good friends. A charitable young man, who fundraised for the Irish Kidney Association - a charity close to the Doyle family. He is survived by his son, Shane; parents, Breda and Joe; brothers, Adrian, Ian, Ciaran, Gavin and Michael; sister, Karen; relatives and many friends. His remains were interred in St. Ibar's Cemetery, Crosstown following 11 a.m. Requiem Mass in the church of the Assumption, Bride Street on Saturday. Fr. Aodan Marken officiated at the funeral.
