Recently departed Cork hurling coach is thought to be in the running for the vacant Wexford managerial job.

Flannery confirmed his departure from Kieran Kingston's backroom team earlier this week and the Irish Examiner reports today that the Carrigtwohill clubman has been linked with the Slaneysiders' post.

Wexford county board chairman Diarmuid Devereux confirmed that there is "substantial and significant interest" in the job, with Liam Dunne said to be the front runner as he seeks another term after five years in charge.

Last year saw Flannery steer Wexford giants Oulart-The Ballagh to the club's first the Leinster club championship crown after defeating Cuala of Dublin.
