Tom was a proud father and loving husband

THE COMMUNITY of Our Lady's island were greatly saddened to learn of the recent death of Tom Kehoe.
Tom, aged just 38, passed away following an illness he bore with great dignity and courage.

He finally lost his battle with cancer on September 19 last.
Tom Kehoe, of Buncarrig, Broadway, was born on June 21, 1972. He attended the local national school and went on to St Peter's College.
He spent his summer holidays working on the family farm, picking potatoes, and liked to finish those days with a swim.

Tom was a member of Our Lady's island GAA Club and was a passionate West Ham United supporter.
After completing his education, Tom went to work in Hotel Rosslare, where he began his career in hotel catering. He later moved on to Langton's in Kilkenny and from there to the Galway Bay Hotel in Salthill, where he worked for eight years, from 1998 to 2006. It was in the new McWilliam Park Hotel in Claremorris, Co. Mayo, that Tom's dream was realised, when he was asked to 'set up' the kitchen and all the catering arrangements.

It was in the McWilliam Park hotel that Tom excelled as the Executive Chef. Having started at he bottom some years earlier, he had worked his way to the top of his chosen profession.

Tom loved coming back to the 'island' and meeting friends in the Island Bar.
He was a fun-loving character, well-known for his quick one-liners and he was a real magnet for others, as everyone enjoyed his company.
Tom had a ready smile and a mischievous twinkle in his eye. He was first and foremost a family man; a loving son, brother and husband.

He married his loving wife Orla in March 2004 in Milltown, Co. Galway and he became the proud father of Adam and Andrew.
The large number of people who attended Tom's removal and funeral bore testament to the high esteem in which he was held.

His family would like to thank the many people who travelled from Our Lady's island and various parts of Wexford for his funeral, Our lady's Island GAA Club, who provided a Guard of Honour in Milltown and the friends and neighbours who have shown them such great support in recent weeks.

Tom's Month's Mind Mass will be celebrated in the Church of the Assumption, Our Lady's Island, on October 16 at 5pm.
He was predeceased by his mother Margo, who died in 1998.
He is deeply mourned by his wife Orla, sons Adam and Andre, his father Denny, his brother Nicky and Donnchadh, his sister Mary, his nephew, niece, parents-in-law Johnny and Margaret, his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives and friends.
